Wildlife of Patagonia, Argentina

USFS Condon Work Center
Jim Williams, wildlife biologist for Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Region 1, Kalispell will narrate his unique slide show of photos taken during his extended visit to Patagonia in 2006. His visit is part of a cultural/wildlife management exchange between that area of Argentina and western Montana. His presentation will also include a comparison of wildlife management issues here and in Patagonia. A sign-up for this program is requested, that sign-up deadline is August 18th. Please note the change in dates for this program; the original date was August 16th.

The Swan Ecosystem Center and Alpine Artisans invite artists to submit work for inclusion in a juried fine art auction be held September 28th at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts in Missoula
This “Celebration of the Crown of the Continent” is a fundraiser to support Swan Ecosystem Center’s stewardship of the Swan Range and Mission Mountain Wilderness and Alpine Artisans' Cultural Arts Corridor Initiative. Works of all media inspired by the power of the Crown of the Continent is welcomed.
The Crown of the Continent Ecosystem encompasses Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, the wildlands of Southeast British Columbia, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and Mission Mountains Wilderness and the communities surrounding these natural areas.
Silent auction submissions will be accepted through September 19th.

Crown of the Continent Celebration
Ralph Waldt, the award-winning author of the Crown of the Continent, a photo and essay book, will be the featured speaker at the first annual Crown of the Continent Celebration on September 28th, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts in Missoula.
Co-sponsored by Swan Ecosytem Center and Alpine Artisans.

SEC feat ured on the Crown of the Continent website!
This unique, interactive map of the Crown of the Continent region was created by National Geographic with input from residents of Montana, Alberta and British Columbia, to promote eco-tourism and preserve world heritage sites. It highlights what residents and visitors are doing - and can do - to sustain regional character. A hard copy of the map is also available for order on the website.
